History
There were originally two Kingdoms that made up what we today call 'Verac'. It is believed that the Kingdoms of Upper and Lower Verac were originally two confederations of tribes, who spoke similar languages. As the demand for resources rose, however, relations between the two confederations deteriorated to a point of almost-war. Whilst the two Kingdoms were united by the marriage of the King of Upper Verac and the Queen of Lower Verac in 1878, it was merely a personal union for a considerable amount of time. It was not until the late 1990s that moves were made towards the dismantlement of the apparatus of the individual Kingdoms.
